Zachary Hedstrom is a resident of Boulder, CO and a student at the University of Colorado. Upon visiting the Ecuadorian Amazon in 2016 and staying with an indigenous Kichwa community, he witnessed their vibrant culture which is deeply integrated with the jungle and threatened by extractive industry. He sees the localized bodies of eco-cultural knowledge around the world as vitally important in informing a paradigm which honors Earth’s diversity and natural systems. Zach also enjoys ecological agriculture, mycology, music, and is a student of the Indian Tabla.
