Josh Vogeler

Josh Vogeler is an upbeat folk artist based in northern Colorado. Using a blend of melody and spoken word, he delivers lyrical journeys rooted in the wisdom of nature. Formally trained as a drummer, he’s developed a percussive finger-style of playing on a 10-string acoustic guitar. With experience in bluegrass, jazz, rock, reggae, and hip hop, Josh’s style is diverse. His mission is to explore and uplift!

Josh grew up in Missouri where he studied Wildlife Biology, and played in a variety of bands through High School and College. He moved to Denver in 2002, playing drums in a jam rock band while pursuing a spiritual attraction to the Rocky Mountains. He’s been making music around Colorado ever since. His most notable work was as a drummer and songwriter for The Holler! from 2008-2012, recording Road To Gemini (2009) and Gratitude (2011). As a songwriter, he won 1st place at the 2015 UllrGrass Festival Troubadour competition in Golden, CO. Since 2015 he’s been hosting a monthly songwriter series at High Hops Brewery in Windsor, building a strong network of Colorado songwriters. In January 2017 he released his first full length solo album, Naturenaut, recorded at Stout Studios in Fort Collins.
